Gae Aulenti designed an indoor garden - a triangular alcove in glass and slate that modulates the monochrome urban backdrop. Matchstick blinds transform this one-room apartment from living room to bedroom. Country accents abound - bamboo cachepots; a Sardinian carpet; a fringed hand-woven spread over a chaise lounge as wide as a double bed.
